Cooked mussel meat
There are many species of mussels in the world, and about 17 of them are edible. The most common are Blue mussels, Mediterranean mussels, Pacific Blue mussels , and New Zealand green-lipped mussels. Like oysters, they are filter-feeders that consume algae and plankton from the water. Mussels are also high in vitamin B12, needed for the production of red blood cells. Omega-3 fatty acids are necessary for heart health. They keep your heartbeat regular, lower blood pressure, and help blood vessels work as they should. Mussels are rich in the marine Omega-3s, EPA and DHA.
